Following another incredibly successful year, we are delighted to announce 2 new additions to the Grassroots Team – David Peck and Chris Traynor. Joining in the roles of Recruitment Manager and Resourcing Consultant respectively, the pair will add to our expanding consultancy team in delivering exceptional recruitment services to employers across the UK.
Whilst we’re still waiting for our year end accounts to be audited, we can safely say that 2018 – our 10th year – was the best yet. We doubled our annual turnover (now in excess of £1.8m), following a dramatic increase in our IT Contract Division, as well as a surge in our North West Commercial operations. We became ISO9001:2015 accredited, secured £500K invoice funding from Lloyds Commercial Finance, launched the first ever Stockport Salary Survey, and won ‘Business of The Year (Turnover £1-5M)’ at Stockport Business Awards.
Whilst it will undoubtedly take some beating, 2019 is set to deliver a similar pace of accelerated growth for our business. We have an unprecedented number of new national contract wins underpinned by rising employer confidence and regional investment. The new appointments mark the start of an exciting period of expansion as we look forward to a busy year ahead.
David Peck, Recruitment Manager
Educated in Purchasing & Supply, Marketing and Commercial Law in London, David has spent over 20 years working in the technology/IT recruitment sector. Over that period of time he has sourced candidates in almost every discipline and industry sector. (Indeed, hiring for the finance professional services sector has become a secret *no more* behind-the-scenes activity).
Now based in the North West, David covers roles throughout the UK both permanent and contract and anything in between. His expertise lies in offering a depth of understanding and quality of service that can only come with time in the industry.
As such, his consultative, customer-centric and process-driven approach are the perfect complement to the values and ethos here at Grassroots. David believes his experience will complete a highly skilled, professional and effective resourcing unit capable of delivering to tighter requirements and timescales.
Chris Traynor, Resourcing Consultant
With a background in retail management and B2B sales within the life assurance sector, Chris is a commercially-savvy business professional with a strong work ethic. His accountability, ability to listen, problem solving and project management skills stand him in good stead as he takes on the role of Resourcing Consultant with Grassroots.
Joining our North-West based Commercial Division, this is Chris’ first foray into the recruitment sector and he will be embarking on an intensive training programme over the next 12 months. Having already made an impressive start (placing his first candidate after only 3 days on the job), he has a diligent and empathetic approach that allows him to build candidate rapport quickly and effectively.
Growing up locally and based in Stockport, Chris is very family-focused and a keen football supporter. He is looking forward to the challenge of joining a successful and fast-paced team and the learning opportunities that presents.
